Many times we want to point the finger at our spouse for our failing marriage, and this may very well be true, but sometimes we have to ask ourselves, what could I have done better? We have to stop placing blame, stop saying, "it's your fault", turn the other cheek and make a change in ourselves. The change you want to see in your marriage has to start with you. Some of us are in unequally yoked marriages or an unhealthy marriage, where all you do is argue, no sex life to enjoy and no communication. But we serve a God who can absolutely turn things around. Do your spouse see the Christ in you at home? Are you loving your closest neighbor, which is your spouse?
Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God. Ephesians 5:2
Today, take time to reflect on how YOU can make your marriage better in 2012. I know and understand how it feels to put in all the work and don't see a return. But remember God moves according to His perfect will, plan and purpose. Do your part and allow God to do His. Keep praying for your spouse!!!!
To sacrifice means: a surrender of something of value as a means of gaining something more desirable or of preventing some evil.
Do not forget to do good and to help one another, because these are the sacrifices that please God. Hebrews 13:16
